sometimes we don’t know what
we need by way of encouragement,
help, rebuke, strength, discipline,
comfort, and love from the Lord and
our community until we receive it.
this is not the case with me today.
i woke up knowing that i needed to
be drawn in close, cared for, loved,
and reminded that He bears me up,
strengthens my heart to stand when
i am weak, and tenderly loves me
when i am lonely.
and that is just what i got.
praise be to the Word of the Lord!
i almost didn’t read it. i’d already
spent a good while reading and
thinking. i almost stopped after
psalm 90.
i’m sure glad i didn’t!!
Psalm 91
v.1-2,15-16
really, the whole psalm is excellent
i encourage you to read it all.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my
fortress, my God in whom I trust.’
‘Because he holds fast to me in love,
I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and
show him my salvation.’”
I can trust him.
I do trust him.
He is a strong tower.
I am protected from ultimate harm.
He hears me.
He answers.
He satisfies.
